Coconut water has many benefits that help you. Coconut is a new item that we are just beginning to realize the health benefits. The use of coconut has been around for centuries in cultures that have wild coconut trees. Many of the trees used today are those that are farmed for commercial use. The products that use artificial coconut are not beneficial since they do not use real coconut. Keep this in mind you want real coconut so you get all the benefits included.

The easiest way is to crack open a whole coconut. This is why some exotic places will serve you the coconut water still in the coconut. All you do is buy a whole coconut use a power drill and drill a larger hole. Tip the coconut and drain the water out. If you wish to use the coconut meat you can make your own shreds and coconut oil. This allows you to use the entire coconut, since you can dry the shell out and use it for drinking out of. Just be sure you take out all the meat from the shell so it dries out fully.

Just add the mixture to your skin straight out of the shower when your skin is the most receptive, and pat dry.

Without a doubt, the coconut water is good for you body, as it contains minerals and more elements. The easiest way to drink the coconut water is just by adding it to regular filtered water. You can also add it to hot water if you prefer hot water. You can also freeze the undiluted coconut water into ice cubes and add them to your water.

You take the coconut water and fill the ice cube trays three-fourths full then freeze them. The silicone trays make it easier to get the ice cubes back out, since they tend to stick to the hard sided ones. You can find the silicone trays on most stores, the craft stores have shape ones as well. The ice cubes can also be used for many of the drink recipes I will provide as well making measuring easier. Just use three to four ice cubes for the smoothies, shakes and cocktails. In cocktails you can leave them whole to melt like normal.

You need

  • Cold filtered water
  • Coconut water ice cubes
  • You take the cubes and add them to your water simple enough.

You just add the coconut water straight into the filtered water without using the ice cubes. The ice cubes just have the added benefit of keeping the water colder longer.

Flavored recipes

Healthy Tropical smoothie

You need

  • Coconut water
  • Pineapple
  • Mango
  • Watermelon
  • A blender

A tropical smoothie made with coconut water, pineapple, mango and watermelon. You chop the fruits up removing the seeds and cores. You then fill the blender up, add coconut water. Blend until fully blended and enjoy.

Coconut water and Pineapple popsicles

  • You need
  • Silicone Popsicle molds
  • Pineapple
  • Coconut water

Take the pineapple cube it up. Place the cubes into the Popsicle molds, leaving room for the water. Now take the coconut water fill living a bit of room to allow the freezing. Close the mold with the sticks inside and freeze until solid. Once frozen remove from the base with the sticks still in the popsicles and enjoy! Another variation is to blend the pineapple and coconut water into a smooth consistency then adding it to the molds before freezing.

Super fruit refresher cocktail

You need

  • Mangos
  • Papayas
  • Pineapples
  • Coconut water
  • Ice cubes (or coconut water ice cubes)

First cube up the fruit removing all seeds and cores, mix the fruit gently and add to glasses. Pour the coconut water over the fruit and ice cubes in the glasses; allow chilling in the refrigerator for an hour and serving cold.

Pina colada breakfast shake

You need

  • Coconut water
  • Pineapple
  • Oats
  • Coconut shreds
  • A blender

After the pineapple is cubed up place the ingredients into the blender and blend until a shake consistency.

What you need

  • 2 or 3 shots of espresso, or drip coffee
  • Coconut water
  • Make the coffee or espresso as normal, pour into the cup add the coconut water to taste mix and enjoy.

  • Sugar to taste

In a large glass fill with ice cubes, either made of coconut water or just water. Add the coffee until three fourths of the way up, at this point add the cream and sugar to taste. If you are adding liquid coconut water add it until you have the glass full, if not add a bit more coffee and cream as the coconut ice cubes will melt. Stir vigorously and enjoy.

I have given you plenty of recipes to use the coconut water I just have not told you why it is so important. Once you see the benefits you will realize why the coconut has been used for medical reasons for centuries. I am only giving you part of the benefits the coconut has many more as well.

The costs also go back into paying the workers’ wages and keeping the coconut crop running. If you are lucky enough to live where coconuts are wild enjoy that benefit of local coconuts. Just remember there are many varieties of coconuts so the wild ones look different than the ones in the stores.

The wild coconuts also have a richer flavor with more nutrients. If you see green coconuts they are the wild ones try them. The brown coconuts are the farmed ones we associate with coconuts. Just keep in mind when buying whole coconuts you want to use as much of the coconut as possible to cut down on waste. Another option for the shell is to compost it by breaking it into pieces. You can also make mulch and kindling this way as well. Just be sure that all of the meat in the coconut is removed and the shell is dry.
